APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING DATA FEE INFORMATION IN PORTABLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for providing data fee information in a portable terminal are provided to enable a user to check the data fee at any time in accordance with usage of a wireless internet. A method for providing data fee information comprises the following several steps. A controller of a portable terminal checks whether there occurs a wireless internet connection event by a user(201). If so, the controller performs a wireless internet connection procedure(203). The controller obtains fee information and transfers the obtained fee information to a fee management unit(205). The controller checks whether a user requests the terminal to terminate usage of the wireless internet(207). If so, the controller makes the fee management unit calculate the data fee in accordance with usage of the wireless internet(209). The controller makes the fee management unit accumulate the data fee(211) and displays the accumulated data fee on a display unit(213). The controller checks whether the accumulated fee is more than a preset threshold(215).
