DETECTING HOME POSITION OF TRANSFER BELT AND A IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A transfer belt, a transfer apparatus and an image forming apparatus having the same are provided to simplify its configuration by removing configuration of an enhancing tape, reduce the width of the transfer belt and prevent malfunctions caused by a cleaning fault. A transfer belt of an image forming apparatus comprises a belt unit and a magnetic field generator(21). The belt unit performs orbital motion by being contacted with a photoconductive drum where an electrostatic latent image is formed. The magnetic field generator is disposed on the belt unit and generates a magnetic field for initial location sensing. A sensing unit(25) comprises a coil unit(22), a current measuring unit(23) and a controller(24). The controller determines that the transfer belt is located in an initial location by using change of a current value measured by the current measuring unit.
