<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system for an elevator allowing the comfortable transit of elevators between a lower story side and an upper story side, sufficiently securing safety, in the case of providing elevator service different between the lower story side and the upper story side. <P>SOLUTION: An entrance door 6 is opened when a card reader 24 provided outside the entrance door 6 identifies that the input identification information of a resident 22 is right. Further, in the case that a destination story contained in the identification information is a story belonging to the upper story side elevator, a safety control device 26 instructs a lower story side elevator control section 21a to perform automatic relay operation up to the relay story, and instructs an upper story side elevator control section 21b to perform automatic operation up to the destination story.
