<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus with an excellent usability property capable of easily and properly selecting a paper brand to be used in a printer and a function of the printer. <P>SOLUTION: When selecting a paper brand designation mode, a device function to be applied is narrowed down from designated paper brands, and when selecting a device function designation mode, a paper brand to be used is narrowed down from a designated device function. When selecting the paper brand designation mode, if a device function unusable to the designated paper brand is selected, the mode is changed to the device function designation mode.
