<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation speed detector which makes more precise air gap control, is free from a failure in airtightness, and improves reliability in detecting rotation speed of a wheel, and also to provide a wheel bearing device with the rotation speed detector. <P>SOLUTION: An annularly formed sensor holder 15 is mounted at an end of an external member 4, and consists of a fitting ring 16 and a resin-made holding part 17 coupled to the ring 16. A notch 14 notched in an approximate semicircle is formed approximately at the center of an outer peripheral surface of the holding part 17, causing part of a flange 16b which is a peripheral surface of the ring 16 to be exposed. When a fitting part 16a of the fitting ring 16 is pressure-fitted into and fixed to the external member 4, not only the part of the flange 16b of the ring 16 where the holding part 17 is not provided, but also the part of the flange 16b exposed by the notch 14 on the outer periphery of the holding part 17, can be pressed by a pressure-fitting jig. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
