PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric for an airbag, which has reduced opening, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The base fabric for the airbag includes a woven fabric and a resin layer containing a thermoplastic resin and laminated at least on a part thereof, and has a sliding resistance of≥300 N measured based on ASTM D 6479-02 (2003), and an air permeability of≤0.5 L/cm<SP>2</SP>min at an air pressure of 19.6 kPa.
