摘要 An embedded mechanism for assessing vulnerability of a platform is provided to scan the vulnerability locally in the platform without any agent operated in a host OS(Operating System) to be attached from an external or internal network by performing scanning in an execution container of a network management platform. A management platform(200) includes at least one host component(202), an ME(Management Engine)(204), and more than one network-like communication component. The ME has a vulnerability scanner(218) for scanning vulnerability related to security policies of a management console(212) in at least one host component. The network-like communication component connects communication between at least one host component and the ME to enable the ME to scan the vulnerability in a network-like mode similar to a network-based mode for enabling the management consol to scan the vulnerability in at least one host component. The vulnerability scanner scans at least one of malicious software, virus, and worm attack, or open ports in a firewall.
