<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly capable of realizing reduction of the number of components and simplification and automation of manufacturing processes by enabling to fix accurately a lamp socket to a housing container without using an alignment plate. <P>SOLUTION: In the backlight assembly, a housing container is divided into a socket insertion part and an inverter housing part. The socket insertion part is preferably formed at the upper end of a first side wall of the housing container which extends along a long side of the bottom face of the housing container, and supports the lamp socket directly. The socket insertion part, further preferably, includes a recess formed at the upper end of the first side wall. A level difference part extends in depth direction on the inner face of the recess which is in contact with the surface of the lamp socket. The lamp socket is inserted in the socket insertion part so as to slide along the level difference part. On the other hand, the inverter housing part is formed on the opposite side to the socket insertion part with the first side wall in between and houses the inverter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
