HEATING COIL FOR TEMPERING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating coil for tempering, which can uniformly temper hardened layers on both a circumferential surface of a shaft part in a shaft-shaped component provided with a flange and a boundary part of the shaft part and the flange.

SOLUTION: The heating coil 10 for tempering has a heating conductor part 18 for induction-heating a non-hardened part 44 which is located outside the boundary part 42 among areas in the flange 40. The conductor part 18 for heating the non-hardened part has an approximately semicircular arc-shaped part which extends along a conductor part 16 for heating the boundary part, in the outer side of the conductor part 16 for heating the boundary part. The central angle of the arc does not have to be 180 degrees (semicircle), but may be approximately in a range of 150 degrees to 210 degrees.
