<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite metal oxide capable of providing a fluorescent substance that shows higher luminance brightness than conventional ones. <P>SOLUTION: The composite metal oxide comprises the following (1), (2), and (3) as metallic elements, i.e. (1) an alkaline earth metal selected from Ba, Ca, and Mg, (2) Al and (3) at least one element (M) selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metals and Mn, wherein, when the mole ratio of Ba:Ca:Mg:Al:M is a:b:c:d:e, 0.3≤a≤8, 0≤b<12.5, 0≤c<12.5, 11≤a+b+c≤13, 13≤d≤15 and 0.0001≤e≤1.0 are satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
