A mobile terminal device, a method for switching an image thereof, a method for switching sound thereof, and a method for switching a broadcasting channel are provided to allow a user to determine whether the image, the sound, or the broadcasting channel are switched while the user views or hears the image, the sound, and the broadcasting channel previously. An input unit(420) receives a signal for switch from a first image to a second image. A control unit(470) makes the second image overlap the first image correspondingly to the signal, which is received through the input unit. A display unit(450) displays the first image and the second image, which overlap each other by the control unit. The input unit is composed of at least one of a directional key, a scroll key, a wheel key, or a touch screen. The control unit adjusts an overlap screen ratio between the first image and the second image correspondingly to the input signal.
