PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device for achieving improvement of convenience by grasping internal information for a user in a simple configuration.

SOLUTION: A control device 40 composing a projector 1 as the image display device includes: an abnormal state information storing part 451 for storing abnormal state information concerning an abnormal state of the projector 1; an abnormal state detecting part 441 for detecting the abnormal state of the projector 1; and an output control part 442 for carrying out output control outputting the abnormal state information corresponding to a detected abnormal state to external equipment through an equipment connection means for transmittably connecting information with the external equipment capable of displaying images when the abnormal state is detected in the abnormal state detecting part 441.
