<p>A locking device for locking an ISO-standardized corner fitting of a freight container, comprising:—locking means which are adjustable between an opened position in which the locking means can freely pass an opening of the corner fitting and a closed position in which the locking means hook behind the opening of a wall surrounding the corner fitting;—operating means which, upon placement of a container on the locking device, are adjustable through cooperation with a wall of the corner fitting from an unloaded initial position to an end position loaded by the weight of the container, and—an adjusting mechanism which couples the locking means and the operating means in a manner such that the initial position of the operating means corresponds to the opened position of the locking means and that the end position of the operating means corresponds to the closed position of the locking means, and that upon placement of a corner fitting of a container on the locking device, the weight load of the container energizes the locking means towards the closed position.</p> |
