The pile-based strip material (14) comprises a primary carrier, e.g. a spun fleece of polyester fibers, a woven or knitted fabric, into which the pile fibers are fixed. For secure retention of the fibers in the carrier a non-woven fabric is attached to the rear side of the primary carrier by using a water jetting machine (5). Independent claims are made for: (a) process equipment comprising a machine for producing the pile-based strip (14) and further equipment for applying a stabilizing layer on the rear of the strip comprising a non-woven feeding unit (2,3,4), a water jetting machine (5) and a dryer, especially a drum sieve dryer (8); (b) a strip material comprising a pile in a primary carrier of a non-woven, woven or knitted material onto whose rear side a non-woven fleece, especially carded fleece, is water jetted; (c) a strip material with a pile in a primary carrier and a composite stabilizing layer, comprising a coarse woven layer between two lightweight non-woven layers, water jetted onto the rear side. |
