A washing machine and a drain device thereof are provided to prevent malfunction of the drain device caused by clogging by straightly forming a connection pipe of the drain device. A washing machine comprises a body, a tub(12), a drain pipe(23), a drain hose(24), and a drain unit(30). The tub is installed in the body, and stores water inside. The drain pipe is fastened to a lower part of the tub to drain water out of the tub. The drain hose is extended from the drain pipe to drain water out of the body. The drain unit has a connection pipe(31), a case(32), and a valve(33). The cylindrical connection pipe, inclined at a predetermined angle, connects the drain pipe and the drain hose to drain a predetermined size of foreign material with water and has an opening/closing path(31c) inside. The case is extended from one side of the connection pipe. The valve linearly moves in the case and opens and closes the connection pipe. |
