A method and an apparatus for driving an OLED device are provided to improve image quality by compensating for luminance reduction due to the increment of voltages based on currents flowing in a driving transistor. An OLED(Organic Light Emitting Display) device includes a display panel(100), scan and data drivers(120,130), lines, and a luminance compensating unit(150). The display panel includes plural pixels at sections where plural scan and data lines cross each other. The scan and data drivers, which are connected to the scan and data lines, supply scan driving signals and data signals to the pixels. The lines supply first and second source voltages to the display panel. The luminance compensating unit, which is connected to a line for supplying the second source voltage, compensates voltages of the data signals corresponding to the output signals from the pixels.
