PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle rear lamp control method for reducing accidents of rear-end collision with a following automobile. SOLUTION: The rear lamp control method comprises: a step of generating an electric signal which is output depending on the operated condition of a brake pedal and an operation signal via which the operated condition of the brake pedal reflects the braking intent of a driver; a step of inputting actuation signals from an ABS control module for determining a driving condition, a horizontal acceleration meter and a vertical deceleration meter, and a front distance sensor, in addition to the operation signal; a step of collecting these signal data and comparing it with a preset reference value via each status determining logic at the same time to determine a degree of danger; a step of executing a display mode to operate a rear lamp or a center upper end mounted braking lamp (CHMSL) via a driving logic for flashing or lighting the rear lamp and the center upper end mounted braking lamp (CHMSL) after the step of determining the degree of danger; and a step of keeping the operating time for the display mode for a certain time.
