<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire grid polarizer capable of preventing the destruction of a metal fine line part in the wire grid polarizer having high transmittance and polarization separation function and, thereby, improving the reliability thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the wire grid polarizer where a number of linear metal fine lines and linear dielectric fine lines parallel to one another are arranged, the whole surfaces of both lateral walls of each dielectric fine line are brought into contact with one side lateral walls of the adjacent metal fine lines and at least one side of two lateral walls of the metal fine line has a region which is brought into contact with no dielectric fine line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
