A protective cap for a bolt and a nut is provided to enable replacement of a bolt receiving cap even though the length of the bolt is irregular since the protective cap is fastened by a threaded portion of the bolt. A protective cap(1) for protecting a nut(9) and a threaded portion(10) of a bolt(8) overhanging from a surface where the bolt and the nut are joined in a mechanism or a structure, comprises a nut receiving cap(1b) and a bolt receiving cap(1a). The nut receiving cap whose lower side is open, has a nut receiving part(3) for receiving the nut and a hole(5) through which the threaded portion of the bolt joined with the nut on the center of its upper side. The bolt receiving cap, whose upper side is sealed for preventing dust from coming in or for the purpose of waterproof, has a bolt receiving space(2) on the inside to allow the threaded portion of the bolt passing the hole of the nut receiving cap to be sufficiently received through its open lower side.
