The invention relates to a progressive wave tube with an electron gun, providing a beam of electrons in the ZZ' axis of a spiral tube (20) and a hyperfrequency wave injected at an inlet end (22) of the spiral, propagating along the tube with electromagnetic coupling to the electron beam. The diameter (d) of the spiral at the other outlet end (24) is less than the diameter of that part of the spiral between the inlet end (22) of the spiral and said other outlet end (24) of the spiral, such as to improve the coupling between the hyperfrequency wave and the electron beam at said other outlet end from the spiral. |
