A control method of a microwave oven is provided to turn off a steam heater when a fire is detected and to set water spraying amount maximally in order to extinguish a fire quickly. A control method of a microwave oven comprises the steps of: sensing whether a fire occurs in the microwave oven(S10); turning off a steam heater when the fire is detected and setting water spraying amount maximally(S20,S30); spraying water to a maximal level and warning of the fire(S40); judging whether a recognition key is inputted(S50); and stopping the water spray and the warning(S60).
