A method and a system for providing simultaneous transcoding of multimedia data are provided to transcode a movie as displaying and/or recording the movie requested by a final user, thereby enabling the final user to save a time. A method(300) for providing simultaneous transcoding of multimedia data comprises the following steps of: receiving multimedia data in a first format(302); transmitting the multimedia data to an output device(304); and simultaneously transcoding the multimedia data into at least one alternate format different from the first format as transmitting the multimedia data to the output device(306).
