TRANSPARENT DISPLAY DEVICE AND OPERATION METHOD FOR THE SAME

A transparent display device and a driving method thereof are provided to maintain a high transparency state during ordinary time and to convert only a region corresponding to an object included in an image into an opaque state when an image is displayed. An image projecting unit(110) projects an image including at least one object. A screen unit(120) displays a projected image. A transparency control unit(130) controls the transparency of the area corresponding to the object at the screen unit. The screen unit includes a liquid crystal. The first and second transparent electrodes are located at both sides of the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal is a polymer dispersed liquid crystal. The first and second transparent electrodes cross each other. The transparency control unit controls the electric potential difference between the first and second transparent electrodes. A light guide panel guides the projected image to the screen unit.
