A movable member type connector is provided to prevent a lever installed on or in a housing from being separated from the other housing at an engageable position between a cam follower and a cam groove and an engageable position of preventing portions to prevent two housings from being inclined to one another. A movable member type connector(A) comprises a pair of housings(10,30), a movable member(20), and at least one cam follower(34). The housings are connectable with and separable from each other. The movable member is supported on one of the housings. The one cam follower is provided in the other housing and engageable with a cam groove(25) of the movable member. The first and second housings are connectable and separable by a cam action caused by engagement of the cam groove and the cam follower as the movable member moves. The other housing includes at least one preventing portion(36) at a position spaced from the cam follower in a direction at an angle in connecting and separating directions(CSD) of the housings.
