An electrolyte of an EDLC(Electric Double Layer Capacitor) is provided to stably drive the ELDC at high temperature by improving heat resistance to prevent deterioration of the electrolyte in heat treatment for surface mounting of components. In an electrolyte of an ELDC, a polarized electrode of the EDLC is coated or impregnated with the electrolyte. The electrolyte is formed by mixing an ionic organic solvent or an organic solvent with an organic compound solute. The solute is 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumtetrafluoroborate salt. The electrolyte is formed by mixing 5 to 40wt% of an aprotic organic solvent and 60 to 95wt% of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumtetrafluoroborate salt.
