A control button of a frontloading washing machine is provided to prevent mis-operation and damage of the control button caused by contact with external objects by containing the control button not in use inside a control panel. A control button(10) of a frontloading washing machine comprises a button fixing unit(20), a button operating unit(30), an elastic member(40), and a button adjusting unit(50). The button fixing unit has a body unit(21), a fixing unit(22), and an assembling hole unit. An insert hole unit(21A) is formed at the center of the body unit. The fixing unit is protruded on a side of the body unit, wherein a rack is formed at the outer surface. The assembling hole unit is connected with the insert hole unit in the fixing unit, wherein a rotary switch is assembled. The button operating unit has an operation unit(31), a guide member(32), and an operating body(39). The operation unit has an operation groove(31A) where the fixing unit is assembled, a pinion mated to the rack, and one open side. The guide member is formed at one part of the operation unit. The operating body unit is integrally formed with the guide member at a side of the operation unit. The guide member has a guide piece(37). The guide piece moves along a guide piece guiding unit, and the other end of which is fixed to a button fixing unit to control operation of the button operating unit. The elastic member is interposed between the operating body and the operation unit. The cylindrical button adjusting unit is formed at a control panel, wherein the operating body unit is pressed-fitted.
