PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a laser source capable of obtaining a desired beam quantity in a shorter time, a laser light source, an image display device, a monitor and an illumination device. SOLUTION: This method is a driving method of a laser source 1 provided with a laser source 2, a wavelength conversion element 3 for wavelength-converting a beam emitted from the laser source 2 and a resonator mirror 4 constituting a resonator structure together with the laser source 2.
