A swirl control valve for an engine is provided to prevent resistance of intake air from being generated by removing a valve shaft, which penetrates through the center of an intake channel. A swirl control valve for an engine comprises an upper support plate(22) supported on the top surface of a valve mounting portion(14) of an intake manifold runner(10) to rotate, a lower support plate(24), and a valve plate(26). The lower support plate is disposed on the upper plate while facing each other and supported on the bottom surface of the valve mounting portion to rotate. The valve plate is integrally connected to one side of the upper and lower support plates to perform an open/close operation for an intake channel. The valve mounting portion is provided at the top thereof with a valve cap(16) capable of mounting the intake manifold.
