PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can execute controlling of printing which a user or the like attempts to do on printing information related to a prepared document. SOLUTION: When the printing information is printed, a syntactic analysis on the printing information is performed. A PDL (Page Description Language) processing apparatus 1025 extracting a first controlling command included in the printing information and a second controlling command loaded with a set element, and a pass-through processing controlling means (CPU 1021) are installed. The pass-through processing controlling means transmits the first controlling command to a printer engine E without monitoring the condition of the printer engine E when the controlling command extracted by the PDL processing apparatus 1025 is only the first controlling command, and controls so that it ignores the first controlling command and transmits the second controlling command to the printer engine E without monitoring the condition of the printer engine E when the controlling command extracted by the PDL processing apparatus 1025 contains the second controlling command.
