A method for transmitting content protection information in digital broadcast, and an apparatus and a method for receiving digital broadcast for processing content protection information are provided to define a specific function for the determination of an SRM in a broadcasting stream, thereby allowing a receiver to determine the existence of the SMR in a broadcasting stream easily and quickly. A system renewability message(SRM) used to protect broadcasting contents and information for SRM recognition used to notify the existence of a corresponding SRM in a broadcasting stream are individually formed and inserted into program system information(PSI). The PSI information including the information for SRM recognition and the SRM is transmitted through a broadcasting stream. The information for the SRM recognition is inserted into a program Map table(PMT) of the PSI information. The SRM is inserted into intellectual property management and protection(IPMP) control information of the PSI.
