The invention relates to an edifice foundation comprising at least one foundation element which encompasses a wooden pole that can preferably be anchored in the ground by ramming the same in and a load-transferring cap that can be slid over the upper end of the wooden pole, introduces edifice loads into the wooden pole, and is preferably fitted with positive means for connecting an edifice element to be supported. The invention further relates to a method for producing such an edifice foundation. According to the invention, the load transferring cap is simultaneously used as a device that prevents rotting, wherefore the same is designed so as to prevent humidity transfer on the wooden pole. The load transferring cap forms an at least fluid-tight, preferably also gas-tight, pole protecting jacket which fluid-tightly encloses the wooden pole from the upper end thereof down to a humidity transfer zone. The load transferring cap keeps the wooden pole uniformly humid or uniformly dry according to the mounting situation. The pole protecting jacket keeps the wooden pole by and large humid beyond the water level if the latter is used as a foundation for a hydraulic structure. Advantageously, the wooden pole has a permanently modified, particularly compressed wood structure in the area surrounded by the pole protecting jacket. |
