<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a reflection region for increasing a ratio of a vertical light component to the light which is incident from the outside on a liquid crystal panel and reflected by the reflection region. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a rear substrate 101 and a front substrate 110, a liquid crystal layer 107 interposed between the rear substrate 101 and the front substrate 110, and a reflection region 120 disposed in a part between the rear substrate 101 and the liquid crystal layer 107 to reflect external light to illuminate the liquid crystal layer 107. The reflection region 120 includes an array of hybrid reflection surfaces 103 where hybrid reflection surfaces 103 having a compound structure are formed in an array, each hybrid reflection surface including a first reflection surface 103a having a convex curved surface formed in the center thereof and second reflection surfaces 103b with a spread-out shape from the first reflection surface to the periphery, formed around the first reflection surface 103a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
