PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide mechanism capable of smoothly putting in and out a dead bolt even in a large side pressure applied to the dead bolt. SOLUTION: A pair of adjusting plates extended in the length direction of the dead bolt along both the side faces of the dead bolt are movably provided in the length direction of the dead bolt at the front end part of the dead bolt which is movably guided in a front and rear direction orthogonal to a front plate in a lock box and has a driven notch at a rear end part. A pair of the adjusting plates are relatively urged forward with respect to the dead bolt for guiding it. A thick plate disposed at the rear face side of the front plate in the lock box arranges a pair of radial ball bearings 9 at one side with a vertical rotating shaft so as to sandwich the adjusting plate 2 at both the side ends of a dead frame 4 with an almost cross-shaped opening for allowing the dead bolt pass through in such a way as to rollably abut on the side face of the dead bolt.
