<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head capable of increasing the joint strength between a face and a shell body. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club head includes a shell body front part 20 and a shell body rear part 30 which are jointed to each other to form the shell body. The shell body front part 20 is made of metal with excellent elasticity, and has the face 21 and an annular fence part 22 around the face 21 to be extended rearward, so that the shell body front part is cup-shaped on the whole. The fence part 22 has a fitting part in the outer end. The shell body rear part 30 is made of light metal with relatively small specific gravity, and has a deep cup shape as a whole. The shell body rear part has a fitting part at the opening end which is fitted to the fitting part of the shell body front part 20. The fitting part of the shell body front part 20 is formed to project, while the fitting part of the shell body rear part 30 is a recessed groove.
