<p>A system and method are described that allow for both call control data and voice data to be transferred between a mobile radiotelephone and a set-top box or residential gateway. When a mobile radiotelephone is placed into a docking station or near the set-top box or residential gateway, both devices recognize the other's presence. Subsequently, when a user is watching programming such as a broadcast movie, a VOD movie, a television show stored on a DVR or a movie stored on a DVD, the programming can be paused and the user is alerted when an incoming call is received on the mobile radiotelephone. The user can talk to the calling party using the set-top box or residential gateway and later return to the programming.</p> |
