摘要 A device for reducing current consumption of a rack motor of a steering system is provided to offset external force exerted to a tire and to prevent malfunction of an ECU caused by overheat by integrally assembling a damping piston to a rotary shaft unit of a hinge shaft. A device for reducing current consumption of a rack motor of a steering system comprises a MR(Magneto-Rheological) fluid(21), a damping piston(22), and a current control unit(23). The viscous MR fluid is filled in a hollow part of a hinge shaft(10). The damping piston is integrally assembled to a rotary shaft unit(11) of the hinge shaft to offset external force exerted to a tire by rotating in the space unit of the hinge shaft. The current control unit is placed in the MR fluid, and applies current in accordance with detected information of steering angle, steering torque, and rack location of the vehicle.
