METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SERVICE OF TRAFFIC INFORMATION USING PEER TO PEER

A method and a device for providing a traffic information service using a P2P(Peer-to-Peer) mode are provided to reduce an expense for constructing/operating a system providing the traffic information by providing and analyzing the traffic information autonomously without a traffic information collecting server and detectors. A message issuer(211) calculates a moving speed of each section by using navigation information of a navigator(400), and issues and transfers an AD(ADvertisement) message to a P2P traffic information network(300). A message searcher(212) obtains the effective AD message by searching the P2P traffic information network. A message analyzer(213) calculates the moving speed of each section by analyzing the effective AD message, and checks a traffic situation by using the calculated moving speed of each section. The navigation information includes a moving course, a driving speed, and location information. The message searcher obtains the AD message issued from a vehicle driving the section corresponding to the moving course as the effective AD message.
