PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a respiratory assist device useful for preventing the nasal congestion and snoring during sleep by improving handling and wearing properties, stably retaining a nasal cavity expanding operation and securing the improvement of the nasal breathing. SOLUTION: This respiratory assist device 1 improving the nasal breathing by being worn in the nasal cavity and expanding the nasal cavity is so formed that an outer-side support arm part 4 and an inner-side insertion arm part 2 are connected together into a lateral-U-shape in a side view by an elastic connection part 3 having a spring action, preferably a pushing pad 2a is provided at the tip of the insertion arm part, and while the insertion arm part 3 is inserted into the arm part 2, the insertion arm part 2 and the support arm part 4 clamp an area from the nose wing to the outer nasal cartilage from the inside/outside of the nose.
