<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately detect eye regions included in a face from an image obtained by imaging the face. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device includes a face detection engine 160 for detecting a face included in a recording medium such as a recording medium 300 and in image data inputted from an imaging unit 400; and an inner and outer eye corner detection engine 170 for detecting inner and outer corners of eyes included in the detected face, and sets the eye region included in the face detected by the engine 160 on the basis of the inner corners and outer corners detected by the engine 170. If the engine 170 does not detect at least one of the inner corners and outer corners of the eyes, the device estimates the eye region on the basis of the outer corners or inner corners of the eyes detected by the engine 170, region information of the face detected by the engine 160, and statistics data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
