<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously measure the concentration of specific ion contained in ground water over a long period of time using an ion selective electrode 3. <P>SOLUTION: The inner surface of a container 2, to which ground water W is continuously supplied in an overflowing state is plated with silver having anti-bacterial properties to set the ground water in the container 2 to a silver eluting atmosphere wherein a very small amount of silver is eluted, bacteria living in the ground water is killed to prevent the formation of a biofilm on the surface of the ion selective electrode 3.
