PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having an improved electrode effective for equalization of discharge starting voltage between cells having different emission colors. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel having a color display screen composed of first, second and third cells having mutually different emission colors, in which each of all the cells of the screen has a discharge gap formed by an electrode pair, at least one electrode of the electrode pair being composed of a transparent conductor which determines the discharge gap and a metallic band contacting with the transparent conductor, with respect to the cells of the same emission color within the screen, the resistance values per unit length in the transparent parts of the electrodes corresponding thereto are set equal to each other, and the resistance value per unit length in the transparent part of the electrode corresponding to the first cell is set larger than the resistance value per unit length in the transparent part of the electrode corresponding to the second cell.
