PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for an electronic component with which leads having various diameters can be surely held and mounted on a circuit board. SOLUTION: The spacer is provided with a spacer body 12 made of a resin having heat resistance and insulation and molded so as to be attached to an electronic component, and a through hole 14 provided through the spacer 12 and enabling each of leads 4 of the electronic components 12 to be inserted. The spacer is provided with an opening edge 14c formed on a part of the internal circumference of the through hole 14 and used as a clamping portion having an internal diameter smaller than the diameter of each of the leads 4. The spacer is also provided with slits 16 opened on the side surface of the spacer body 12 so as to communicate to the insertion hole 12, wherein one side surface of the spacer body 12 is divided in a lead insertion direction along the insertion hole 14. Thinning portions 20, 22 are formed by thinning the thickness of the spacer 12 to easily cause bending deformation of the slit 16 in an opening direction, on a portion around the insertion hole 14.
