PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for in vitro evaluation of the optical sensitization properties of a substance to be examined. SOLUTION: An in-vitro evaluation or screening method for substance to be examined is such that human monocyte cells and the substance to be examined which is predicted as being an optical sensitive substance are together irradiated with light, to be incubated; and by detecting CD86 molecules developed on the surface of the human monocyte cell, photosensitization properties of the substance to be examined are evaluated.
