The cage has a flat sheet-metal part (2) folded at folding points. The sheet-metal part has an inner circular ring (4) in a non-deformed condition. Bars correspond to receiving tables for a bearing body and extend radially outwards from the ring. The bars have strip sections (7) in its radially outwards end area on sides of the bars such that the bars (6) and the strip sections (7) form a T-shaped contour. A width of the sections is enlarged from a connection point (8) at the bars to an end (9) that is distant from the connection point. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a cage.
