PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke device which enables a singer to listen to singing voice by following the singer, even if the singer moves. SOLUTION: The karaoke device 1 outputs high frequency sound of a frequency band of 18 to 19 kHz in order to detect a position of a microphone 3 held by the singer 63. During reproduction of a karaoke music piece, the karaoke device 1 outputs measuring sounds 1 and 2 from two different speaker units of a speaker array, at timing in which specified voice for masking the high frequency sound is reproduced, and the measuring sound is collected by the microphone 3, and time periods t1 and t2 from the output to the collection, of the measuring sounds 1 and 2, are measured. By calculating the position of the microphone 3 with a triangulation method, by using the period t1 and t2, a beam of singing voice is output to the position of the microphone 3. Thereby, the singer and a listener can listen to the karaoke music piece without care about the high frequency sound. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
