PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a retreat of a vehicle in automatic starting on a sloping road. SOLUTION: This automatic stopping-starting device has an engine control part 10 automatically stopping an engine 2 when a predetermined stopping condition is satisfied and automatically starting the engine 2 when a predetermined starting condition is satisfied, a braking device 3 imparting braking force to the vehicle mounted with the engine 2, and a braking control part 16 holding a braking state by the braking device 3 when a predetermined braking holding request condition is satisfied and releasing the braking state by the braking device 3 when a predetermined braking releasing condition is satisfied. The engine control part 10 determines whether or not the braking control part 16 holds the braking state by the braking device 3, and automatically starts the engine 2 when its determination is affirmed.
