摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device for a vehicle capable of continuously generating feasible maximum lateral acceleration regardless of a coefficient of the friction of a road surface and improving obstacle avoiding performance. SOLUTION: This steering control device is provided with: a target front wheel slip angle calculating means (step S200) which calculates as a target front wheel slip angle, a front wheel slip angle with a lateral force of a front wheel maximized based on a detected wheel load; a front wheel steering angle adjustment means (step S201) which adjusts a front wheel steering angle so that the front wheel slip angle follows the target front wheel slip angle; and a yaw movement adjustment means (step S202) which adjusts the yaw movement of a vehicle so that the yaw rate generation direction of the vehicle when turning is matched with the lateral movement direction thereof.
