<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative active material for a lithium secondary battery, having high interface stability between a negative electrode and an electrolyte and capable of using both of an aqueous binder and a nonaqueous binder, and to provide a manufacturing of the material. <P>SOLUTION: The negative active material contains a core, containing an active material capable of electrochemically performing reversible oxidation and reduction reaction; and a coating layer, formed on the surface of the core, having network structure of -O-M-O- (here, M is Si, Ti, Zr, Al, or a combination of them), and containing an organic functional group bound to the M as a side chain, and the organic functional group contains one kind selected from among a group comprising an alkyl group, a haloalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, and a combination of them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
