A sealing layer is more surely applied in both a display region and a peripheral region thereof on a substrate. A dummy structure (36) is formed in the peripheral region (15) of the display region (13). The dummy structure (36) contains, for instance, at least one of the materials constituting an organic EL display structure (18). The volume of the sealing layer (40) per unit area in the peripheral region (15) and the volume of the sealing layer (40) per unit area in the display region (13) are set to be substantially the same by the dummy structure (36).
