PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens whose aberration is restrained to be little, which achieves such a wide viewing angle that a half angle of view is 42°or more, which is compact though an f-number at a short focal end is 3.0 or less, and which can restrain the deterioration in image quality due to a manufacture error or the like, and a camera device and a personal digital assistant. SOLUTION: The zoom lens has a first positive lens group G1, a second negative lens group G2, a third positive lens group G3 and a fourth positive lens group G4 in order from an object side, and has a diaphragm on the object side of the third lens group G3, and is constituted so that space between the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2 may be increased, space between the second lens group G2 and the third lens group G3 may be decreased and space between the third lens group G3 and the fourth lens group G4 may be changed when varying power from the short focal end to a long focal end. The third lens group G3 is constituted of a first positive lens, a second negative lens, a third positive lens and a fourth negative lens in order from the object side, and the second negative lens, the third positive lens and the fourth negative lens are cemented.
